Export packing should be discussed before production is finished, not after the rolls are already made. Roll diameter, roll weight, core size, wrapping method and loading plan all affect container utilization and unloading.

This guide is for bulk buyers sourcing PP/PE woven fabric roll products, PE laminated tarpaulin rolls and industrial packaging woven rolls.

Data needed before packing can be estimated

Packing cannot be estimated accurately from GSM alone. Buyers should send:

  1. GSM and coating structure.
  2. Roll width and roll length.
  3. Target roll diameter and core size.
  4. Roll weight target if available.
  5. Packing method preference.
  6. Container type: 20GP, 40GP or 40HQ.
  7. Destination port and unloading condition.

If the roll is for truck covers or outdoor cargo covers, the buyer should also confirm whether the roll will be stored outdoors after arrival. In that case, wrapping and pallet protection may need more attention.

Packing for tarpaulin and cargo cover roll material

For truck cover tarpaulin fabric rolls, buyers often care about clean surface, color consistency and roll handling. For heavy-duty tarpaulin fabric rolls, roll weight and unloading equipment become more important.

For industrial packaging use, such as pallet covers, liners or export wrapping, see industrial packaging PP/PE woven rolls.

Avoid these packing problems

Do not confirm packing only by container type. Two rolls with the same GSM can load differently if the width, length, diameter or core size is different. Do not mix too many widths and colors without clear labeling. Do not assume pallet packing is always more efficient; it can improve unloading but reduce total loading space.
